Adult Rehabilitative Mental Health Services
(ARMHS)

Norway Health Center provides Adult Rehabilitation Mental Health Services, a program which help patients learn new skills as well as restore a patient’s skills essential for managing their illness, treatment, and the requirements of everyday independent living.

What is ARMHS?

ARMHS helps individuals with mental illness improve and maintain stability, social skills, and independent living. The services provide support in medication management, symptom control, and daily living skills to prevent more restrictive care.

Who qualifies for ARMHS?

  • Age: Be 18 years or older.

  • Diagnosis: Have a primary diagnosis of a mental illness confirmed by a Diagnostic Assessment.

  • Assessment: Have a completed Level of Care Assessment.

  • Functional Impact: Demonstrate a significant impairment in functioning across three or more key areas, as determined by a Functional Assessment.

Skills and Support Provided by ARMHS

Mental Health Symptom Management

ARMHS staff helps patients recognize, manage and cope with their mental health symptoms, including preventing relapse and practicing healthy lifestyle skills.

Mental Health Symptom Management

ARMHS staff helps patients develop essential daily living skills, such as cooking and budgeting, to enhance their independence.

Medication Education

ARMHS staff educates patients about their medications, ensuring they understand the benefits and potential side effects.

Treatment Planning and Goal Setting

ARMHS staff educates patients about their medications, ensuring they understand the benefits and potential side effects.

Employee Related Support

ARMHS staff offers guidance in finding and maintaining employment, including job coaching and vocational training.

Housing Support

ARMHS staff assists patients in securing and maintaining stable housing by providing advice on budgeting and accessing resources

Mental Health Education

Through ARMHS, patients and their families gain a deeper understanding of mental health, reducing stigma and encouraging recovery.

Transition to Community Living

ARMHS staff assists patients in smoothly transitioning from hospitals to independent living by providing ongoing community support.
